Choosing the right career.

"If I could do whater I wanted, what would it be?

Make a list of things you love to do.

Make another list of things that you do well.

Ask yourself where do these lists overlap?

If you love talking to people and are really good at convincing them to do things, sales could be for you.

If you are always organising what to do with your friends when you go out, perhaps management skills are more for you.

What job is right for me?

Be realistic:  Consider what you like to do along with factors such as:

your level of education or training;

how many years are you willing to commit

Do you plan to go back to school in the future?

You might need to think about getting a part time job to pay the bills whilst you are at school.

Always try to get a part time job in the industry you are interseted in.  For instance if you wish to be a doctor, try being a receptionsist assistant at a doctor's surgery.

If you wish to go into music, try and get a summer job temping at a studio.
