DEPARTMENT OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES

APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
Young people, you are our future. You have a right to be loved, safe, healthy and protected so that you can grow into productive members of society. Stay Safe by: Tell an adult where you are going and who you are with. Say NO if someone tries to touch you in a way which makes you feel uncomfortable or confused. It is not your fault if someone touches you in a way which is not okay. Do not keep this a secret, tell an adult or a friend. If your friend tells you he or she is being abused, believe the person, tell the person it is not his/her fault and then tell an adult. Contact Family Services 239-KIDS to report child abuse. Social workers are available to help you and stop child abuse

DE BOYS’ DAY OUT

The club has three groups which include juniors, seniors and “Men In The Making” ranging from 8 - 20 years of age. Simply stated, De Boys’ Day Out Club is a “gang” with a positive twist. Often these gang members get together to talk about and share things common to boys like bikes, games, music, girls, school, and relationships just name a few. Former members who have been a part of De Boys’ Day Out Club for three years or more have made radical changes in their life. Many of them have gone to college, with most members either still in school or fully employed. De Boys’ Day Out Club encourages boys to go against the natural grains of society and challenges them to develop into courageous men, committed husbands, caring fathers and productive citizens.
