Up Close
with Rt. Hon. Alex Scott,
Premier of Bermuda, Leader of the PLP
By Eric Berkeley

Recently Erin and I teamed up together and spent the day with Premier Alex Scott. We started our day with an Up Close Interview. We took our time to find out what exactly is behind the suite and tie. The Premier started school at Purvis Primary, he then went on to Berkeley Institute. While he was at school he grew up in Khyber Pass, Warwick. At 11 years of age he worked for Government in the Health Department.

He has a son and looked after his fish whilst his son was abroad at school. If he can find any spare time he likes to relax by watching situation comedies on TV, he also enjoys photography as a hobby. His favorite book was called “Freedom at Midnight”.

I was sad to find out that the Premier has never played video games and didn’t know xbox and playstation. He prefers strategic games like chess and admits to being quite good at checkers.

The Premier’s role models include Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther Kind and Bob Marley.
