By Joell Robinson
Down below is a poem on relationships. It is about a teenage girl. “You know when you have a boyfriend you feel that your older and mature and that you should be treated like an adult from your mom”.
If only she knew…
He says I am beautiful and perfectly shaped
My mother told me be quiet and stop talking for goodness sake
He told me he admired my voice and the way I thought
Mother told me to take back her gift, she didn’t like what I brought
He told me he loved me and that I was all in his dreams, fantasies and wishes
Mother told me to get off the phone and wash the dishes
He said our friendship would last forever
Mother told me to try and be clever
He told me he would never leave and that will always be there
Mother told me to get a bath and comb my hair
He said he couldn’t wait to get married, and live in a house that was new and drive a car that is blue
Oh mother …… if only she knew
